Our promise to you

Most agencies recruit agents. We build careers.

My Davis Group provides valuable guidance by explaining the intricacies of your Medicare plan options. Our licensed insurance agents help you navigate enrollment and choose a plan that fits your specific healthcare needs and budget — then stay with you, keeping you informed about annual plan changes and answering questions year after year.

What makes that promise real is the model behind it. After 20+ years in Medicare and a decade running this agency independently, we've kept the group deliberately small: seventeen licensed agents who do this full-time, as a profession — not a side hustle. Together they help roughly 4,000+ beneficiaries enroll every year. That's why they stay, and why you keep the same agent.

"When your agent's career depends on keeping you — not just enrolling you — everything about the relationship changes."

02 · Why this matters

Medicare is confusing. Doing it alone is worse.

Most people don't think about Medicare until it's suddenly urgent — a birthday, a retirement, a spouse's plan ending, a bill that doesn't look right. When that moment comes, you shouldn't have to explain your situation to a stranger who's reading from a script.

"The person who enrolls you should be the person who answers when the hospital bill arrives wrong — not a stranger in a call center reading from a script."

Ryan Davis, Managing Director

You've spent decades building a life, a family, a career. The healthcare decisions ahead of you deserve the same care — not a 20-minute call with someone you'll never speak to again.

We built My Davis Group to be the opposite of that. One agent. Yours. On their direct line. For as long as you're on Medicare.

What people tell us they were afraid of
  • Choosing the wrong plan and being stuck with it
  • Missing a deadline and paying a penalty for life
  • Getting a hospital bill they don't understand
  • Being sold a plan that pays the agent, not them
  • Never getting the same person on the phone twice
What our clients say afterward

"It felt like I had someone in my corner the whole time."

04 · The industry model vs. ours

Why so many Medicare experiences feel the same — and wrong.

Two structural problems shape the Medicare marketplace, and both work against the person on the other end of the phone. Understanding them is the fastest way to know what to look for — and what to walk away from.

Problem 1 · The 1-800 call-center model

Predatory marketing, rotating agents, scripts written to close — not to help.

National TV ads and 1-800 numbers funnel calls to giant call centers where a rotating cast of licensed agents reads from a script. Many of these operations engage in tactics that violate CMS marketing rules — unsolicited outbound calls, contacting people who never gave permission, high-pressure enrollment, and steering toward the plan that pays the highest commission rather than the plan that fits. When you call back in March, the agent who enrolled you is gone — you get whoever's next in queue.

Problem 2 · The mass-recruit agency

Hundreds of agents. Low enrollments per agent. An upline that quietly decides how you're served.

Other agencies recruit hundreds — sometimes thousands — of agents. The math is stark: if an agency has 500 agents and 10,000 enrollments a year, the average agent handled only twenty families. That's not a career, it's a hobby. The design isn't accidental — the principal earns override commissions on every recruit's production while agents cycle in and out. And because nearly every agent reports to an upline who earns a share of their business, the upline's incentives quietly shape how the agent handles yours.

Our model

Seventeen agents. Full-time careers. No uplines. No call center. No mass recruiting.

We carefully selected a group of seventeen licensed agents who do this as a profession. Together they help roughly 4,000+ beneficiaries enroll every year — which means the average agent here handles hundreds, not twenty. That's how you get judgment, not scripts. No one here is part of a recruitment mill. No one is pushed to close. And the person who enrolls you is the person who answers when you call back — in March, in July, five years from now.

05 · Medicare 101, in plain English

What the four parts actually mean.

You don't need to memorize this — your agent will walk you through it. But if you want to arrive at that call already oriented, here's the whole system in one page.

Part A

Hospital coverage

Inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing after a hospital visit, hospice, some home health. For most people, Part A is premium-free because you (or a spouse) paid Medicare taxes for at least 10 years.

Part B

Doctors & outpatient

Doctor visits, preventive care, outpatient procedures, durable medical equipment. Comes with a monthly premium (set by CMS each year) and typically 20% coinsurance after the deductible.

Part C — Medicare Advantage

A private alternative that bundles A + B and often D

Private insurers offer plans that replace Original Medicare with their own network, often bundling drug coverage and extras (dental, vision, gym). Lower monthly cost, but network and prior-authorization rules apply.

Part D

Prescription drugs

Stand-alone drug coverage layered on top of Original Medicare (or built into most Medicare Advantage plans). Formularies and pharmacy networks vary widely — the same drug can cost very differently across plans.

Enrollment windows — don't miss them

Missing a window can mean paying a lifetime penalty. There are four:

IEP · Initial Enrollment

The 7-month window around your 65th birthday: three months before, your birthday month, and three months after. Enroll here and there's no late penalty.

AEP · Annual Enrollment

Oct 15 – Dec 7 every year. This is when you can switch plans, add or drop Part D, or move between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Changes take effect January 1.

OEP · Open Enrollment

Medicare's Open Enrollment, Jan 1 – Mar 31, is only for people already in a Medicare Advantage plan, and it allows one change: switch to a different MA plan, or drop MA and go back to Original Medicare with a standalone Part D drug plan. It's not a chance for people on Original Medicare to join an MA plan.

SEP · Special Enrollment

Triggered by a life event — moving, losing employer coverage, qualifying for Extra Help. Gives you a limited window outside AEP without penalty.

This page is educational, not plan-specific. Your agent will translate this into the decisions that apply to you.

It has always been 5 stars!! Ryan handles all things Medicare for me, since the day I turned 65 which was 10 years ago, and he has been absolutely amazing from day one. He is incredibly responsive, deeply informative, and completely takes the stress out of navigating Medicare. Ryan brings a perfect balance to his work: he maintains a highly positive, professional, and business-like sense while still providing a warm, caring personal touch. If you need a Medicare advisor, look no further. He truly goes above and beyond! He has done this not only for me and Susie but for everyone I have recommended — past, present, and for sure future!!

I appreciate Ryan. From the beginning of our retirement he was there to help us along with our Medicare questions and placement. We came across Ryan by one of my customers that had retired and he spoke highly of Ryan's ability to make the process of Medicare easier. Ryan is knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the different healthcare companies. Based on his knowledge, Ryan could point us in the right direction according to our health care needs. We still have contact with Ryan whenever we have a question. Ryan always responds in a manner that is professional and kind! Even though we retired a couple years ago, we still are appreciative of his ongoing service to us. He hasn't disappeared into the night, like so many have!

I was dreading dealing with Medicare but Ryan made it easy. He was patient, clear, and always quick to respond whenever I had a question. It felt like I had someone in my corner the whole time.
